Questions, answered
How much is the sleeper train from London to Penzance?
Seats start from around £52; a private room from about £99. Fares are demand-priced and rise as the train fills, so the earlier you book the less you pay.
When should I book?
Booking opens around 12 months ahead — far earlier than normal UK rail. Friday and Sunday nights and summer dates sell out first, so book as soon as your date opens for the lowest fare and the best chance of a room.
Does the fare include a bed?
No — the cheapest fare is a reclining seat. A bed means choosing a cabin tier (Classic or Club on the GWR Night Riviera) when you book.
Can I use a Railcard?
Most fares take a Railcard for up to a third off — the exception is the flagship double cabin. Add your Railcard at the booking step.
What time does it arrive?
Into Penzance at approximately ~07:54, after a journey of about ~8h 05m. That is often before hotel check-in, so plan a bag-drop or an early-check-in room.
